Nindigully has some of the biggest and best fireworks displays each year.

The weekend is fully catered for your enjoyment by ourselves and doggas bury the bone banquets, all at very reasonable prices.

The theme for the weekend as usual is Pool Party with bring your own pool and water slides and set up along and in the river. Bikinis and Boardshorts are encouraged.

Fireworks as usual are by Fireworks Downunder …Wazza (warren ritchie)…the biggest in the bush and qld every year and amongst the biggest in Australia every year. The largest calibre mortar at the gully this year will be 12 inch (300mm) weighing over 16 kilos …yes 16 kilos (bag of cement roughly) plus many thousands of smaller pretty mortars….the largest at brisbane river of fire is 3 inch (75mm) weighing a mere 0.75 kilos…the largest ever seen in brisbane is 6 inch (150mm) weighing 1.5 kilos. So you see ours are serious fireworks (and expensive) and more importantly beautiful with full starry sky backdrop with no city lights or highrise buildings interfering….

The Nindigully Pig Races

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN PIGS FLY? If not …you better come out to the gully pig races on the last Saturday in November every year and watch our piggies fly!

All piggies are treated humanely and with respect. All piggies are auctioned individually every race and named by winners. The winner is 1st piggie in the milk bowl (they all share the milk), the owner of the pig gets 50 percent of race prize pool and a priceless trophy and the remaining 50 percent in total goes to RFDS. A lot of generous winners donate back their winnings to RFDS – its all in the spirit of the event.

At the pig races it is traditional to have outside vendors set up to tempt you with the finest in “show quality” food plus we have available for you to partake in a beautiful pig on the spit – sorry food is not free but it is all reasonably priced and excellent quality. If you dont want to camp, St George accommodation is 0nly 45 klms away (25 min drive) and has wonderful motels with over 100 rooms in total as well as full town facilities incl medical.

Last and never least for your pleasure and ours our friend and professional pyrotechnician waza from fireworks downunder will light up the beautiful night sky at app 8pm with a show you will remember – always a hit so to speak.
